Intro

The book I am reading is "Mein Kampf" by Adolf Hitler, the book he wrote in prison. It is about his struggle as a child and all he has faced. I'm on page 44 and so far It's actually a good book.

  1. Jeff,

What does Hitler discuss in the book? What is his "struggle"? Does it sound like the writing of a madman, or if you didn't know anything about him and you read this book, would you think he was completely normal?

  3. Bo. One of the struggles he faced were his father's childhood memories reflecting on him in the way that his father ran away from home in persuit of his dreams. Later in the book you find out that Adolf does the same and the whole time he relates himself to it.

  4. Ms. Shank I picked up the book because we had a lesson on Hitler in history and it really interested me. I really enjoy reading it and trying to get in his mind. To me; it's not the writing of a madman.

I appreciate the fact that you can see the brilliance of his mind despite his warped interpretations. How did his childhood influence hsi later life? Do you believe Hitler's formative years were influenced in negative or a positive fashion?
